We regret to inform our members in the Galway area that the Galway Zoning Board of Appeals will not allow us to implement our discount food program (average savings is 33%). As members will recall, we formed a partnership with Sysco Foods and Antonucci Seafood & Produce to distribute their products to Galway Co-op members once every two weeks using our Fish House Rd location. The Galway ZBA’s decision is very unfortunate. This program would have been convenient for Galway residents as well as surrounding communities and would have saved a substantial amount of money on their grocery bills. In addition, we were going to offer free delivery to senior citizens in Galway. This has been a setback but, not the end of the road. As a result of their decision we will be searching out a Saratoga Springs location to test our program. We will keep you informed of future developments.
